EDLD 5364 Week 3 - UDL Lesson Plan
https://sites.google.com/site/interveningwithtechnology/learning-activities For the unit lesson on life cycles, I chose to do the frog life cycle. To make this lesson what it needed to be, I knew I had to apply differentiated instruction that "applies an approach to teaching and learning that give students multiple options for taking in information and making sense of ideas" (Hall, 2003). Starting out, I had the students view an animated video on how a frog starts at an egg and ends up as a frog. This video should peak their interest and get them ready for the interactive SmartBoard lesson with the class where they match the phases of the life cycle with its descriptions. From there, the students will create their own book on the life cycle of the frog and finally they will do an independent interactive cycle prior to assessment. In the first assessment activity, the student will view an e-book with a glossary and terms and from there they student will create a crossword puzzle using words the learned in this lesson and words relating to this lesson. The final assessment will be an interactive quiz on the phases and its descriptions. Having these various activities incorporated into a lesson "are encouraged to demonstrate information and skills multiple times at varying levels" (Hall, 2003). Hall, T., Strangman, N., & Meyer, A.
